Under the name "Onoe Baikiyo" she performed on stage in Kabuki plays labeled as a "Female Actor". Her first film appearance was "Sugawara Denju Tenarai Kagami" Produced by Yokota Shokai and directed by Shozo Makino. With the merger to form Nikkatsu there is a gap in her works from 1909 to 1917 but she returns in 1917 with the title of "Actress" and was renamed "Bessho Masue". She played many Old Woman and mother roles through out her career.
