Miyata Yoyo was a Japanese actor born in Mikawa, Tamana, Kumamoto, Japan. His real name was Iwashita Nobuo (岩下信夫). He graduated from Kumamoto Technical High School in 1929. After working with Miss Wakana's troupe, he became an exclusive performer for Yoshimoto Kogyo in 1938.

In 1942, he moved to Tokyo, where he collaborated with various partners, including Namiki Ichiro and Himori Reiko. Following World War II, he formed a duo with Nunochi Yukie. When that partnership ended, he teamed up with an American performer, Miyata Philip.

Miyata Yoyo also served as the operations chairman of the Tokyo Manzai Association, a separate entity from the Manzai Association, which was led by Columbia Top, one half of the Columbia Top-Light duo.
