She became known in 2005 after being selected as one of the 5th generation Ulzzangs on Daum's "Best Nine" Ulzzang café and worked as a model for several fashion magazines. She then transitioned to acting and made her debut in 2007 with a minor role in the movie "Herb".
She began showing signs of severe depression following several failed auditions and was receiving treatment for it. However, on April 27, 2009, she was found dead at her home at the age of 25. She committed suicide by hanging, and the police investigation and autopsy confirmed it as the cause of death. She was cremated and laid to rest five days later.
