Mimura Shintaro was a Japanese screenwriter born in Okayama, Japan. He moved to Tokyo and entered Meiji University but dropped out. His real name Iwai Shintaro (岩井伸太郎). He joined the screenplay collective "Narutakigumi" in Kyoto during the early days of the talkie era.

In 1926, he joined the Shochiku Kamata Film Studio. In 1927, he made his debut as a screenwriter with the original script "Dochu Sugoroku Kago." In 1928, he transferred to the Kawai Film Production Company in Sugamo, Tokyo, Japan.

When Tojiin Studio dissolved in September of 1932, he moved to the newly established Takarazuka Kinema Omuro Studio.

He passed away at the age of 72.
