Joined the NHK Tokyo Broadcasting Company in 1953 and worked as an actress on stage and on the air. Appeared in the 1976 serial television novel "Unno Juttan". She also won the Minister of Education Award and the Prix Italia Grand Prize for the music poetry "Ondine" ( composed by Akira Miyoshi ), starring on NHK Radio.

Continue the recitation of the stage from classic to contemporary literary works, held every year, "Hiroko Koda Kai" from 1977, Ichiyo Higuchi in the center of the "Tale of Genji" and Kyoka Izumi, Soseki Natsume, Tatsuo Hori - Read aloud on the stage, such as works by Jakucho Setouchi.

In 1981, 1982, and 1984, she received the Agency for Cultural Affairs Art Festival Excellence Award for her achievements in establishing a new field of stage reading. Received the Minister of Education Award for Art Selection, the Mainichi Art Award in 1995, the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 1996, and the Fujimura Memorial History Award in 2002 for "The Thirteenth Night" and " Otsugomori " in 1985. Since 1991, he has been a member of the Kokugo Shingikai for three terms.

Appeared in "One Photo" ( Fuji TV ) on April 13, 1991.

Received the Order of the Rising Sun in the fall of 2003. In 1999, a series of performances of "Reading Classics" by "Genji Monogatari" and "Okunohosodo" started.

From 2001, she started reading the original text of "Genji Monogatari" entitled "Genji Narrative 54 Pledges" at Saitama Arts Theater.

She died of subarachnoid hemorrhage at 6:26 on November 24, 2020, at 88 years old. Edit Biography
