Choi Ji Hee

Choi made her directional debut in 1971, and then started as a fashion designer in 1972. In 1974, she studied in the United States and returned to Korea immediately in 1978 after receiving a BA in Philosophy from Georgetown University. After a brief hiatus from her acting career, she moved to Akasaka, Tokyo, where she worked as a fashion designer. She returned to showbiz with a supporting role in the 1989 movie "Spring of Weeds", and in 1994, she starred in her one and only TV drama "Land of Man".
Besides being a CCH company representative, she was also the President of the Korean Elderly Film Association.
Since her debut as an actress, Choi had made 92 movies. She received the 30th Korea Art Critics Association Contribution Artist Award in 2010, and the Female Filmmaker of the Year Award for Achievement in 2011.
On 17 October 2021, Choi passed away due to pneumonia while battling with lupus.
