In July 1949, his father, Kikugoro, died of illness, and when his disciples formed the Onoe Kikugoro Theater Company , he became a director, but soon he studied abroad in the United States .
After returning to Japan, in addition to Kabuki, he played the role of Yukichi Fukuzawa in "The Liberty Bell Rings" and appeared in movies and TV dramas, but in 1969 he collapsed due to cerebral hemorrhage .
After that, he moved to the United States and taught theater at Harvard University and Columbia University, and made an effort to popularize Kabuki.
The final stage is the appearance at Kabukiza Theater in 1989 . He died of pneumonia in Hawaii . 82 years old died. Edit Biography
