Kuze Ryu
- Name: Kuze Ryu
- Native name: 久世竜
- Also Known as: くぜ りゅう, Misaki Gentaro
- Nationality: Japanese
- Gender: Male
- Born: January 19, 1908
- Died: January 5, 1985
He watched Matsunosuke Onoe 's ninjutsu movies and photos of the activities of foreign series every time he took a break and decided to "become an actor." First, he visited Shin Hasegawa and was introduced by Shozo Makino. However, Makino said, "Stop it, You don't have the face to be an actor."
Around this time, he accompanied Masahiro Makino, who was the director alone, on location. "It was like a job to have a yen and go to buy the director's cigarette," said smoker Makino, who soon forgot about the 30 sen of change, so the accumulated change was pocket money.
In February 1927, he joined the research institute of the Nikkatsu General Photo Studio as an actor. Thanks to Makino's humor, his monthly salary was exceptional at 25 yen, but he was slashed and specialized in roles. If you jump into the water in the middle of winter, you will receive 1.50 yen, in spring and autumn, you will receive 1 yen, and even in summer, you will receive 30 yen.
In 1933 (Showa 8), Masahiro Makino first asked him to learn the sword, and Ryunosuke Tsukigata was sword-fighting. Since then, until 1951 (Showa 26), he has been sword-fighting.
Around 1949 (Showa 24), he once lived in Masahiro Makino's house, and Kuze was made to study camera angles, historical studies, assistant directors, and photographers by Makino. "That helped me a lot."
In 1951, with Makino Masahiro, moved to new Toho, in addition to "Yataro shade", Koji Tsuruta put a sword fight on. In addition, he moved to Nikkatsu and was in charge of "Kisoji no Kou" and others.
In 1958 (Showa 33), he appeared as a warlord in "The Hidden Fortress".
Both Kurosawa and Kuze had a personality that they wouldn't pull back when they said it, and finally, the director Shibayama embarked on a sword fight for Kuze.
Since then, he has been active as a sword fighter in the Toho period drama directed by Akira Kurosawa, Hiroshi Inagaki, Kihachi Okamoto and others. In works such as "Sanjuro Tsubaki", "Samurai", and "Furinkazan", he added a novel and dynamic approach, and along with Hideo Gosha and Kentaro Yuasa, revolutionized the sword fight. Toshiro Mifune, who starred in these works, was highly trusted, and he moved from Toho to Mifune Pro, where he led the "Mifune Pro Kuze Shichiyokai" and taught the younger sword fighters.
He started working as Misaki Gentaro but later became a sword fighter and actor. During the war, it moved to Daiei due to the merger of movie companies and was renamed Ryu Kuze. Edit Biography
