Gio is a budding filmmaker, dramaturg, writer and actor from the University of the Philippines Diliman. A graduating student from its prestigious Film Institute, he became well known for his work in campus theater particularly with The UP Repertory Company and Dulaang UP and for his advocacies on feminism and the LGBTQIA++.

In 2016, he directed Gabriella Youth UP Diliman's adaptation of Eve Ensler's THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES, and he also wrote adaptations for the stage with local works ESKINITA. He was also a part of the dramaturgy of FAUST and WAITING FOR GODOT.
