Yoon Hye Jin
- Name: Yoon Hye Jin
- Native name: 윤혜진
- Also Known as: Yun Hye Jin
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Female
- Born: January 9, 1980
- Age: 46
While a freshman at Seoul Arts High School, she transferred to the School of American Ballet, an affiliated school of the New York City Ballet and after the summer session, she joined the National Ballet in 2002 with a role in "The Nutcracker". She later played the lead role in "Doll", so, as a rookie, she began receiving a lot of attention from the public and the critics due to her meteoric rise. She was officially promoted to principal dancer in 2007.
However, the scrutiny began increasing, and experts agreed she was not suited for the lead roles as her technique was lacking. She began getting roles as the villain or as a secondary character (such as Lady Capulet instead of Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet"), but she rose to fame as those roles required more acting skills, which she excelled at.
In 2012, she decided to join the Monte Carlo Ballet in Monaco as the company was geared towards modern ballet rather than classical ballet, so she felt more comfortable with freestyle dancing. Unfortunately, she suffered an Achilles injury in 2013, and she returned to South Korea to receive treatment
In the process, she dated actor Uhm Tae Woong, and she ended up being pregnant. The couple married after being pressured by their families, and her career was put on hold. After battling with postpartum depression, she returned to the stage in 2015 with the National Contemporary Dance Company. She now dances occasionally for special events, but she now appears on variety shows. She is currently represented by Goodman Story Entertainment.
