She signed with Legendary Star Entertainment (傳奇星娛樂) on January 10, 2010, and officially debuted as an artist. In 2011, she joined Huayan International Music (華研國際音樂) and co-formed Popu Lady. The group released their first mini-album, "Always Always Love" (一直一直愛), on December 14, 2012, after a year of training together. She left Huayan International Music in 2019.
In 2020, she formed the three-member girl group Wednesday with two other former members of Popu Lady, launching their channel "Wednesday Is Not Boring" (星期三不無聊). On July 15, 2021, she entered the food and beverage industry with the opening of "Yuanhuo Zhachu" (原火乍初), which features salt-and-pepper chicken in an izakaya setting.
Hong Shi is married to actor Li Yun Qing (李運慶).
