Woo Hee Bae

Bae Woo Hee

  • Name: Bae Woo Hee
  • Native name: 배우희
  • Given name: Bae Woo Hee
  • Also Known as: Woohee, Bae U Hui
  • Nationality: South Korean
  • Gender: Female
  • Born: November 21, 1991
  • Age: 33
Bae Woo Hee is a South Korean singer, dancer, actress, model, former member of UNI.T (유니티), and current member of DAL SHABET (달샤벳; also stylized as DAL★SHABET). She graduated from Deungchon High School and Ahyeon Industrial Information School. She later obtained a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting Entertainment from Dong-Ah Broadcasting Arts University.

As a trainee, she almost debuted in a group called VIVA GIRLS, but the agency went bankrupt before they could debut, and she had to find another place to continue training.

She made her debut in May 2012, joining as DAL SHABET's new main dancer and lead vocalist with their first album, "Bang Bang". The group had debuted in January 2011 but leader Baek Da Eun (formerly known as Viki) decided to leave as she wanted to focus on her career as a solo artist. So, Dreamcatcher Company (드림캐쳐 컴퍼니; formerly known as Happy Face Entertainment) added her to the group as a result.

The group underwent more lineup changes, and despite having successful singles and a solid fanbase, the company kept tinkering with their concept and looks. This confused the media and the fans as the group had no defined identity and each comeback was met with "ambitious new looks and shocking transformations".

In October 2014, she went on hiatus as she suffered from a collapsed lung and had to be hospitalized. She received surgery, and the agency announced this was not the first time she had this issue in her life, but they were monitoring her health constantly to guarantee her well-being. She returned several months later.

In 2016, she was one of 4 members who remained with the company and released their ninth mini-album, "Naturalness". Then, in December 2017, her contract expired, and she decided to focus on her individual activities.

In 2017, she joined the singing survival show "The Unit" and finished in 7th place, thus securing a spot in the temporary project group. She re-debuted in May 2018 as the group's leader, main dancer, main rapper and lead vocalist with their first mini-album, "Line". However, PocketDol Studio (포켓돌스튜디오) could not reach an agreement to extend the project, and they disbanded in October 2018.

Two months later, her contract with Dreamcatcher expired, and she became the last member of DAL SHABET to leave the agency. She decided to focus on her acting career.

In 2019, they reunited for a photo shoot and a mini-concert, and while they had talks of a possible re-launch as a 6-member group, nothing certain has happened. They have never disbanded, but none of the members remain part of Dreamcatcher Company, so they continue to be on an indefinite hiatus.

She is now represented by Management Bom (매니지먼트 봄) and promotes as an actress and model.
