Lim Min Sub debuted his film career as a member of the production staff on City of The Rising Sun (1999) after graduating from the Seoul Institute of the Arts. At that time, he was also directing several short movies and even won in 2000 the Grand Prize at the Daegu Short Film Festival for Kiss Me. It is however in the production that he would pursue his career, as he served as unit production manager on Au Revoir, UFO (2004), line producer on Love Me Not (2006), and later supervised the making of Korea-Vietnam co-production Muoi: The Legend Of A Portrait (2007). Having founded in 2009 the production company Bluetree Pictures, he made his debut as a producer and co-executive producer with Vegetarian (2010), which was selected for the main competition at the Sundance International Film Festival.
