Choi Ha Won is a South Korean film director and screenwriter. In high school and university, he participated in thetrical plays. His first script "A Draw Game" was written when he compulsorily served in the military. Since his directorial debut "Trees Stand on Slope" adapted from a novel with the same name in 1968, he directed more than 20 feature films until 1990. He fostered younger generation at Dankook Universirty and Korean Academy of Film Arts.
