Manami became a drummer of Nowadaiko at the young age of 6 and worked with them for over 12 years until 2021. The drum band was formed by her father, Nagai Hiromichi, who raised Manami with the skill of performing traditional Japanese wadaiko (drums) and also through the Daichi College High School's Performing Arts Department. She ultimately left the drum band in 2021 to pursue her dreams of becoming a singer.
