She made her debut in 1994 as the group's lead vocalist with their first album, "Roots of Reggae". The concept of a co-ed hip-hop and dance-pop vocal group immediately attracted many fans, and they became one of South Korea's most popular musical acts of the 1990s.
However, in 1996, several songs from their third album were accused of plagiarism and faced severe criticism from the media and the public. They went to Los Angeles and worked on their music there, but she decided to leave the group in early 1997 to make her debut as a solo artist with the album "Cat's Eye".
Her solo debut was not very successful, so she returned to the group in 1999. However, even after releasing a few more albums later on, their reputation took a hit with the plagiarism incident, and ROO'RA ultimately disbanded in early 2001.
She began a career as an actress, and in 2009, ROO'RA briefly reunited for their ninth and final album, "A9ain".
