In 2014, the agency wanted a new member for KARA, so she entered the survival show "KARA Project". Unfortunately, she finished in 3rd place and was not chosen as only the first place earned the spot in the group. However, the agency saw potential in her and placed her as a top candidate to debut with their new girl group, APRIL, which was close to debuting.
However, DSP decided to terminate her contract in January 2015 as she did not fit the concept they wanted for APRIL and with no other group ready to debut, she had limited options.
Sadly, on February 24, 2015, she was found dead at the age of 22 after jumping from the 10th floor of her apartment building. With no foul play suspected, the police ruled her death a suicide.
