Born in Jeongju, North Pyongan Province, Jo Sang Geon came to the South during the Korean War and grew up in Seoul. Later, he made his debut on the stage in 1966 and was active in movies and dramas.
After playing significant supporting roles in the movies "Kick the Moon" and "The President's Last Bang," Jo imprinted his presence as Raccoon, investigating the death of Corporal Pyeong at the request of Madam Jeong in the 2006 film "Tazza: The High Rollers."
Jo Sang Geon died at his home on April 21, 2023, at age 77.
