Setouchi Jakucho is a Japanese novelist and a nun of the Tendai sect. She graduated from Tokyo Woman's Christian University with a bachelor's degree in literature. She is the chief priest of Zenkobo at Enryakuji Temple on Mt. Hiei.

She has won the Women's Literature Prize, the Junichiro Tanizaki Prize, and the Noma Literary Prize.
