She made her debut in February 2010 (under the stage name Gaon) as SPONGE BAND's drummer and rapper with their first single, "The Beginning". However, she decided to leave the co-ed band in mid-2011 due to personal reasons.
In April 2012, FNC Entertainment (FNC엔터테인먼트) revealed plans to debut a new group that will have a rotating concept between a girl group and a rock/indie band, with 7 members being part of both and one member being only part of the band.
She re-debuted in July 2012 (now under her real name) as AOA's drummer with their first single album, "Angel's Story", to very little success. The group continued to struggle early on, and FNC decided to create the sub-unit AOA BLACK (AOA 블랙), debuting in July 2013 with the single album "Moya". AOA did not find success until mid-2014 when the single "Heart Attack" became one of the most downloaded songs of 2015 and was also one of the longest-charting singles on Melon's Top 100 Chart. Afterwards, the group kept releasing successful materials.
She decided to leave AOA in October 2016 after her contract with FNC expired. She continued to be featured as a guest for a few years.
She made her solo debut in October 2020 with the single album "Connect". She then became part of P.AZIT and re-debuted in November 2020 with the single album, "Generation X". She left the band sometime in late 2021 to switch agencies.
She is now represented by RXM (알엑스메타) and currently teaches drums and manages her YouTube channel. She re-debuted for the 4th time in November 2022 and is now a member of the band UNI, which debuted with the digital single "Dive".
