  • Nationality: South Korean

  • Born: December 2, 1991

Kim Ga Young is a South Korean singer, dancer, actress, and former member of STELLAR (스텔라). She graduated from National High School of Korean Traditional Music and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Dance from Sungkyunkwan University.

She first appeared on TV during the Viewers' Tour episodes of "1 Night 2 Days Season 1" and was later cast by SBS for the drama "Poseidon". However, the taping was postponed due to the Yeongpyeong Bombardment and the drama was later recast by KBS, who took over the drama. She made her acting debut in 2011 with a role in "Spy Myung Wol".

She made her singing debut in August 2011 as STELLAR's leader, vocalist and visual with the single, "Rocket Girl". They were produced by Mun, who convinced executives at The Entertainment Pascal (디엔터테인먼트파스칼) to add her to the original lineup. Unfortunately, their debut was a commercial failure, and the agency began making lineup changes by February 2012.

The group did not fare much better afterwards, and by early 2014, the agency decided to change its concept to a more provocative one. The music video for their single "Marionette" was classified as 19+, and they faced criticism for their online promotions, where fans would like posts on social media, and, as a prize, they would get to see photos of the members' body parts.

She decided to leave the group in August 2017 when her contract ended, and the group ended up disbanding in February 2018. Then, in October of that year, most of the members reunited to thank their fans, and a special documentary on SBS showcased their struggles while being part of STELLAR. It revealed the pressure they had to endure as the company forced them to perform with revealing clothing and do sexy choreographies.

She worked at a café while still trying to remain in the entertainment industry and is now an independent artist focusing on stage plays.
