Yang Ji Won
- Name: Yang Ji Won
- Native name: 양지원
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Female
- Born: April 5, 1988
- Age: 37
In early 2007, she was originally set to debut as part of the five-member group FIVE GIRLS (오소녀) under Good Entertainment and even appeared in the MTV reality show "Diary of Five Girls". However, the agency faced many financial issues and the debut date kept being delayed. The group was ultimately cancelled, and she had to look for another company.
She then joined MBK Entertainment (MBK엔터테인먼트; previously known as Core Content Media) and became part of the pre-debut lineup for T-ARA (티아라). In April 2009, they released the pre-debut single "Good Person", an OST for the drama "Cinderella Man". But, 3 weeks before her official debut, the agency announced her departure due to differences in music styles.
After switching agencies once more, she finally made her debut in January 2012 as SPICA's main dancer, vocalist and face of the group with their first digital single, "Doggedly". One month later, they released their first EP, "Russian Roulette". The group enjoyed moderate success during the initial years, touring in the United States and also being able to position singles on the Gaon Digital Chart.
However, in November 2015, the group's contract with B2M Entertainment (B2M엔터테인먼트) ended, and they managed to sign with CJ ENM (씨제이이엔엠) the following month. The group began promoting less and less as all the members focused on their individual activities. Eventually, the agency announced their disbandment in February 2017. A few weeks later, the group confirmed that they would return in the future, but that has not happened since then.
Later, in 2017, she joined the singing survival show "The Unit" and finished in 6th place, thus securing a spot in the temporary project group, UNI.T (유니티). She re-debuted in May 2018 as the group's lead vocalist with their first mini-album, "Line". However, PocketDol Studio (포켓돌스튜디오) could not reach an agreement to extend the project, and they disbanded in October 2018.
She made her debut as a solo artist in May 2020 with the single "Towards the Sun" and has also had some acting roles. She is currently not represented by any agency.
