Lee Yun Ki graduated from the School of Drama of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and then in 1994, he participated in the second artist training class of Asia Television and would proceed to join ATV. It was not until 2006 that he left ATV and officially joined the film circle. In recent years, he has been focusing on producing movies, as well as filming dramas in China.
