He made his debut in July 2007 as ONE X's vocalist and maknae with their first single, "Don't Worry". They were not able to promote as much as TGN Entertainment (티지엔 엔터테인먼트; formerly known as Asiart Entertainment), which faced financial difficulties. He decided to leave the group just a few months after debuting, before ONE X eventually disbanded due to inactivity in early 2008.
He then made his debut as a solo artist in September 2009 with the digital single, "Love Back" using the stage name gn.E (pronounced as Geuni).
He then signed with Imagine Asia (이매진아시아; formerly known as Wellmade Star M and Wellmade Yedang) and re-debuted in November 2011 (now using the stage name Aoora) as AA's vocalist, rapper and producer with their first single "So Crazy", which they performed on "Music Bank". The group went on hiatus for over a year as the agency had financial problems and could not support their comeback until February 2013. By June of that year, they had some lineup changes, and since September 2013, they went on another hiatus for unknown reasons.
He re-debuted as a solo artist in March 2014 with the digital single "Body Part" while all the other members focused on their individual activities, and a few even left the industry. The group was transferred to Blue Star Entertainment (블루스타엔터테인먼트) in May 2015, and the new agency focused on him and member Jung Ho Ik (known professionally as Hoik), as the other members were in the military. The sub-unit AOORA & HOIK (아우라 & 호익) debuted in October of that year with the single, "Morning Noon Evening".
However, his contract with Blue Star ended in May 2016, and he did not renew it, effectively marking his departure from the group. AA disbanded a few weeks later.
He then debuted in June 2017 as one half of the producing duo TROPHY CAT (트로피캣) with the single "Stay". Then, in September 2019, he created, directed and was part of a project group called COMSMAN. They debuted with their self-titled single but have not released anything new since then.
He is focused on his career as a soloist and as a producer under HBC HOUSE and vectormob.
