She made her debut in 1992 as part of the 23rd open recruitment for voice actors at KBS. Due to her wide vocal range and her versatility, she immediately landed roles in a wide variety of shows from appearing in children shows, to dubbing villains or foreign actors, just to name some.
In 1994, she became a freelancer and her major breakthrough came in 1997 when she was selected as the Korean voice of Luna, the black cat who accompanies Sailor Moon, and also provided the voice for three other characters on the show. Her popularity continued to rise and, in 1999, she was selected as the voice of Team Rocket's Jessie (known in South Korean as Rosa) in "Pokémon", a role she will play for over 3 years.
In 2003, she became the voice of Pororo in "Pororo, the Little Penguin" and gained more fans among children. In 2007 she won the Best Female Performance Award at the KBS Voice Acting Awards. She was awarded a commendation from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism at the 2018 Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards.
In 2023, she was selected as the Korean voice of Lillith in the videogame "Diablo IV". She has also appeared in some movies and remains one of the most active voice actress in the South Korean industry.
