He is an experienced actor before he took the role, that's why the character is believable. Why hate very good acting? His parent divorced when he was very young, leaving him and his sister with their grandmother. His mom left him at school with just a note. They changed guardians 3 times during childhood and he suffered from various health problems. He has to drop out college and work to fend for himself and his sister. In 2002, he has to go to the military but was then was exempted because he has to undergo depression treatment, he also suffered lung issues. His sis also has depression, but he was worst, so she sacrificed her treatments for him.
He opened a cloth store with a friend and when he went to Seoul to get stock, a talent agency saw him and offered to be an actor. After training, he debuted in 2006. Since then, he has won many awards and risen to stardom. Unfortunately in 2010, his then agency won't let him leave them and spread malicious rumors about his military exemption. He was declared innocent and legally exempted. However, by then, his career hit rock bottom in Korea. This also caused him to be active in Japan and China. He is so popular in China that they made a stamp issue for him.
In 2012, he returned back to Korea but not as ML. He rose to stardom again with CITT. But the production didn't do him justice and some haters create a hate camp for him.
