Kuea is acting childish because he is a child. He's 20 years old, your brain stops developing at 25. He's been controlled and manipulated by his family his whole life. He doesn't have basic life skills and as a by-product has very low self esteem which is likely the cause of all his trust issues. He actually tried to do the right thing and ask his mother about it and she lied at the request of Lian. That's not very mature of the fully grown adults in this situation. I still feel like Kuea is a victim and a product of his circumstance.

No I mean the way he saw Kuea calling out for his help (in the club when Lian was trying to get him to leave) and just left him and didn't intervene. Maybe he just thinks it's not my business but if my friend called for me like that, I would 100% step in. I don't care if it's their fiancé or not. There have been a few instances like that. I don't think they will make him a villain but I don't think I like his character either.

After reading a lot of comments hating on Kuea's character... am I the only one that thinks he did the right thing here? Like let's forget for a second that their relationship is toxic and Kuea was basically groomed by his family for an arranged marriage from birth... I think neither of them is ready to be engaged and definitely not married. They both have major trust issues with each other and Kuea obviously has super low self esteem. Yeah he went about things in a childish way but everyone treatments him like a child, his mom literally told him she gave him to Lian to take care of and to just behave. Given the circumstances it's not surprising that he would act this way.

Am I the only one that thinks Kuea did the right thing? No matter if he went about it in a childish way, they are in no way ready to be engaged or married. They have some major problems to resolve.

Yeah but Kuea has been lying about petty shit not monumental life changing issues like your family is losing everything. Also Kuea has been groomed from a young age by his family and Lian (to some extent). His mom literally said I'm giving you to Lian so just be a good boy and behave. They haven't really given him a chance to grow up. Not to mention he obviously has really low self esteem.

Genuine highlight of the show. At least they sprinkle some progressive stuff throughout all the toxic relationships.

But he was also groomed from birth so... I'll give him a pass. He's kind of the victim in this situation.
