Sweet and delightful just like a cupcake
This is a treat for the older audience like me who enjoy calm and beautiful romance slowly unfolding. The manga was everything to me, its rare to find a BL series about life itself dealing with realistic problems. So when they announced the adaptation, I could only just squeal in excitement!Takeda and Tasunari are exceptional for their roles, they really delivered a realistic approach so its hard not to root for their characters. I think what a make or break for me in every BL series I watched is the acting. If the actors are not sincere it will not only ruin the chemistry but the story itself. But thankfully the actors did an amazing portrayal, the last time I was moved by a good performance from a BL series was from Mood Indigo and The cornered mouse dream of cheese and I can guarantee you this two are the epitome of the BEST BL series I've seen. So its a big feat for OFC to create a beautiful series in just a short amount of time that it became impactful and groundbreaking example for what a BL series should be, a story with a heart.

This is life
Ordinary scenes like skipping, walking, or even arguing over the gender of a bird aren’t usually the focus of a drama, but that’s exactly what they want to portray: the simple, everyday life the two of them shared. Much like in real life, there are only a few times where we celebrate special days or lament the darkest times; most of our lives are spent in ordinary days, and finding little joys is what makes them meaningful.I also think that this concept wouldn’t work if not for the strong performances and amazing chemistry the actors have shown in the drama. This applies not only to the main couple but also to Toki and Sawa, Heavin and Nishikori, the Matsuno family, and heck, even the innkeeper couple. They’re all perfectly in sync, from the bickering to sensing the slightest shifts in emotion. They are truly what made this drama with a simple concept worth watching.
Also worth mentioning that this is some *WOWOW level of cinematography, scoring, and direction you don’t normally see in a typical asadora. Not a shot missed; every angle has truly captured the best acting moments of each actor.
Bakebake perfectly captured the gentle atmosphere of domestic happiness. And it has been a joy watching as a quiet spectator to the ordinary but subarashii life that Jigoku and Shijimi had.

The beautiful closure we all needed!!
Wow just WOW, I love the manga and the series wholeheartedly, I expected the best in this movie and I was just completely blown away!! This was just 100x better than what I expected!!First off, this review wouldn't be focusing on the story, this is mainly dedicated to the whole prod team who created such an amazing job of bringing Marikudo-sensei's work to life. I have to be honest I love the manga but Takezai, Izuka and Yoshida made the whole series unforgettable for me. It's rare for an adaptation to surpass the original, but the series did that and gave us more than we could ever ask for, so thank you so much for bringing the characters to life.
The movie gave us yet another spectacular performance between Takezai-san and Izuka-san (especially Izuka, the man probably gave the acting of his lifetime here, my heart breaks in every scene he's in, seriously this man is a gem, I'm just stunned by his range!!) All the passionate erotic scenes were amazing here, they completely outstand the erotic scenes from Mood Indigo (seriously I never thought the day would come that Kuzumi can beat Kido in terms of erotic scenes with Kijima but damn, I was stunned, speechless and blushing like a complete fool).
There were just some parts from the manga that would have been nice to see in the movie, like them having couple rings and finally living together (they celebrated Kijima's bday too!!) But all in all this was a beautiful adaptation of the most complicated yet interesting life story of Kijima. There's nothing that I could've asked for more, the series has become very dear to me that it's hard to accept that their story is finally over. It has been a wild ride, and my adoration for this series will never fade, they left such a huge impression on my mind that I will think of this for years to come.

Better than the Manga!! I stayed for Naito but fell in love with Seto
I never expected that I'll love this series the same way as Minato koinrondori! With all the non stop releases of JBL for the past 6 months alone, this show was the least that I was expecting given how crappy the manga source material is but boy was I wrong. The prod team did its best to give us such light-hearted, warm and shoujo dreamlike series that I can't help but smile everytime I see Kaneda and Yanase get close! I'm never really a fan of worshipping your crush like a god trope but this one was just too cute without going overboard like that of Utsukushii Kare. The first ep didn't really get me. I just stayed for Naito san but I didn't expect that I'd come to love Seto san too!! Please give this one a try if you're looking for something fluffy and sweet. It'll be hard to get on first but I guarantee you, you'll fall in love with them along the way.Was this review helpful to you?
