I definitely agree! I mentioned at the first 6 episodes about ZSC in the novel and ZSC in the drama being a tad…
Yep, I'm with you on this one! When the prequel started, I reread the novel and now I'm going to reread it again for the nth because that's where all the feels are at lol!
I definitely agree! I mentioned at the first 6 episodes about ZSC in the novel and ZSC in the drama being a tad…
The thing is with RJL is, it's not because he can't act. The guy CAN act but the fact that he's married plays a role in how much he can/willing to perform. This is what's frustrating about watching his drama *sigh*.
I think the essence of the novel has been far lost in the show. Yes, the drama is great when you haven't read…
I definitely agree! I mentioned at the first 6 episodes about ZSC in the novel and ZSC in the drama being a tad bit different awhile back in the comments. Like you, I loved the novel and most importantly ZSC's character in the novel. I just felt the novel ZSC didn't exactly translate into drama ZSC so for sure there is some disappointment there as well as frustration. The prequel was done so good and I was expecting it to carry on over to the sequel as well. There's still half way to go so we shall see where the drama goes.
It is not only you, I also feel the same! I cannot help but feel disappointed in the changes made to his character.…
Totally agree!! Glad it wasn't just me who felt this way. ZSC's character really stood out to me while reading the novel so I was expecting from how well ZSC in the past live was depected in the drama, to also align with modern day ZSC. Fingers cross, we shall see how it goes in the future upcoming episodes.
I agree with you @100kissess. ZSC seems much more tentative and unaware of his own authority in the drama as compared…
Thank goodness I was not the only one thinking this way! Couldn't have said it better! I was also trying hard to come to terms with the changes done to ZSC in the drama. One and Only was done so good and then came along Forever and Ever which I was expecting to also give off that same punch. Dare I say, I was even a little disappointed because I was living for professor ZSC, which Ren Jialun is not to blame. Bai Lu for sure nailed modern day (and past) SY! Here's to future upcoming episodes.
I might be in the minority or maybe it's just me but, I find ZSC in the novel and the ZSC in the drama to be a tad bit different. I have read the novel and watched both the prequel (and beginning of sequel) which I loved. My perception from reading the novel, ZSC to me is someone who is calm, collected, responsible, confident, and mature. His status in the family is dead set and there is respect for him like everyone knows he's the head of the family. The way he deals with situations is steady/calm and I can't help but compare him to the drama version. I can't help but notice ZSC's hesitation, unsureness, and I'm just not getting the vibe that he's the head of the family (not getting suppressed by his mother/uncles). Of course, we don't often see the view from his perspective since the novel is told from SY's POV, which is where it seems to be different. I understand it's a drama and characters have to be fleshed out a bit more, as viewers we get to see different sides. ZSC in the drama is a bit more lively, cute, and again with hesitations when it comes to SY. The drama is a tad bit more lighthearted in comparison. I'm guessing they want to create contrast between the prequel, which is loaded with heaviness, and the struggles between the characters hence the sequel is more lighthearted. I mean, why not because we all cried a river in the prequel and we need to get compensated in the sequel. Again, this could be a personal preference of my own understanding of ZSC but I can't just hope that the director/scriptwriter would retain a bit of the novel ZSC's steadiness and maturity as someone with a huge responsibility on his shoulder. Ren Jialun is amazing as ZSC by all means! Ok long rant over, sorry for such a long post.
So sad my Gina didn’t win :( Meng Jia shouldn’t have come back she disqualified long time ago.. smh sorry…
Agree all the way!! There's a reason she got eliminated in the first place, I find it so disbelieving that Wang Fei Fei didn't make it over Meng Jia. Gina was really good too. This was more of a popularity contest rather than a talent contest. Really disappointed.
I'm hooked on this drama now. But now I have to wait another week for new episodes. :( I just finished watching…
Agree, I thought I was the only one who's shipping Ran Yan with Xiao Yu. Given that they don't have to many scene that gets them romantically involve like the second male lead. She still hasn't got rid of her initial judgement against Xiao Yu's character and right off the bat we got many "in the moment" scenes with Su Fu. Judging from the previews for the next 6 episodes, our 2 leads will be getting more interaction together and hopefully a turn around of her feelings for Su Fu.
There's still half way to go so we shall see where the drama goes.
