Almost done with this season (ep 32). So far it's not bad (at least it's still better than a bunch of cdramas they put out nowadays) but it's definitely not as good as S1 imo. As many people have already mentioned, I think they went overboard with the comedy and there is also way too much dialogue and comedic moments between random supporting roles that adds nothing to the story. Second prince's acting also felt really off and different from season 1. If you've watched sword snow stride, he was also in that drama and his acting in this season felt like he was imitating the character he played in sword snow stride. It's like he got mixed up between the two dramas and forgot how he was supposed to act lol. Sometimes I'm watching this at 2x speed and find it a task to watch just to finish the series. Episode 1-25 basically feels like a huge filler and only talks about corruption and a bunch of random court nonsense. Fighting choreography is also really mid (just a bunch of flying around).There are barely any memorable scenes this season that made me want to rewatch. For example in season 1, I would rewatch ep 27 when fan xian was reciting the poems, ep 28 when they open the case and find out where he came from, uncle wu zhu vs the lvl 9 archer, fan xian vs the other lvl 9s on his trip to northern Qi, when the old man told fan xian the story about his mother and the divine temple, etc etc but for this season the only decent scenes so far is ep 6 (when they entered holding hands), 10 (court scene), 15 (other court scene), and that's pretty much it. I hope the director reads all the criticism online and make season 3 as best as possible.
