AvenueX is one of the worst drama reviewers I've seen. If she's a drama reviewer and makes a living from reviewing dramas then she needs to spend more time watching each drama before giving an opinion. She literally only watched like 2 episodes and started ranting like crazy and relating pedophilia to this show.

9/10 of the Kdramas you watch nowadays will have school bullying, nudity, corruption, and the main character going to jail to end up in more trouble. They are making these dark themes because they want to appeal to the west. My parents also used to love kdrama but now they find it uncomfortable to watch

People like Avenuex who relates this drama with pedophilia are weird and have no idea what they're talking about. The female lead had a one-sided crush on the male lead which is extremely normal. There are even 12 year olds who have a crush on kpop boy groups who are in their mid twenties. It's only wrong if the male lead also have a crush on the female lead which is not the case with this drama. The male lead never felt anything towards her until they were both adults.

kdramas also used to be family friendly, I could watch and enjoy those dramas with my family. Now it's just awkward cause a sex scene/nudity can pop up out of nowhere.

Because the recent kdramas are too dark, depressing, and repetitive. 90% of the kdramas that came out recently always have school bullying, jail scenes, domestic abuse, abuse of power, Nudity etc. They are not even doing this to bring awareness or to prevent the issue too, if anything they are rather promoting the behaviour because they think it's cool and try to appeal to the west with the dark themes. Kdramas peaked in 2014-2017 imo.
