my guy song kang got demoted from a main role to side character 💀
More like a cameo, him, lee jin wook and park gyu young were the stars of the first season and now they have very little dialogue and screentime lol.
On The Killing Vote Nov 9, 2023
Great premise mixed in with laughable hacking scenes, stupid decision making from veteran investigators and police such as chasing a killer alone at night without informing your team, taking teenagers for the ride to catch a serial killer, leaving confidential documents and videos visible while sleeping when you have a roommate, unrealistic depiction of the Korean society towards the police and as always very unrealistic and laughable depiction of corruption.

Great performance from the autistic kid and the assemblywoman's kid in the flashbacks, great performance from Park Sung Woong as Kwon Seok Joo.

Overall, not a bad drama but you will get triggered by the things i listed above if you care enough about them.

I do think the ending excuse the character's in the drama since the character we get for like 29 episode (minus…

I mean he kinda started feeling guilt towards her and how he treated her unfairly compared to Mu yao in the dream and actually started liking her maybe not romantically but as a person, other than this, the dude did not do anything wrong, like imagine getting drugged and made to think that you slept with another person and now you have to marry that person, i'd feel so angry towards them.

I agree about the ML point, also i dont see a reason why Hua Qian would actually stay with the ML in real life, like, she doesnt know him that well, he's still the lord of the zhong family and if she wants to stay with him, then she has to stay in the zhong garden to support her family and give up or aspirations, this and the fact that she literally is a criminal.
I feel like the dream real shouldve ended an episode or 2 earlier to give some space for the relationship to move forward.

Such a good drama but sadly all the male figures in it are pure garbage lol.

The lord is a spoiled brat that expects people to come crawling to him without actually getting to know them or communicating with them. Also he literally did not investigate or put to justice any criminal involved in the assassination attempts made against his people and let everyone be free.

The master (first husband) is a hypocrite with double standards, when Qian does something bad he gets angry and acts all high and mighty but when Mu Yao does the same things and maybe even worse he sits idle waiting for her.

That guard had so many toxic traits, jealousy, over-dependence, acting out before thinking and suffers from the "nice guy" plot a lot.

The father had a very decent redemption arc but he was quite cruel at the start and is still a criminal that almost got an entire family annihilated for his greed.

And after all this, they hit her with the "i did it for you", reminded me of Walter white in breaking bad when he kept saying i did it for the family when all he had to do was actually communicate with his family and be there for each other.

Other than that, the acting was actually very good and the Hua Qian character was perfectly made, i wouldn't change a single thing about her character for this repentance/political/romance type of drama, she was strong, smart and most importantly vulnerable and human. Which kinda makes sense tbh since spoiler alert:

the whole story was her dream and everything was from her pov, and it kinda explains why the male figures all sucked but doesnt excuse it.

The matriarch of the zhong family (lord's mother) was also a good depiction of a strong woman figure who is reasonable wise, has mercy and dotes on her son but at the same time she knows what needs to be done for the sake of her clan.

it lacks story telling....
I think you're right, coz the plot and the story itself were very decent, however you dont feel the world reacting and moving forward with what is happening or something like that, other than that i found kang san to be a terrible actor for this character, even tho i liked the character as it was written, whenever the actor is on screen he kills my immersion, same with the king, great written character but the portrayal was too comical.

Genuine question: why does jang hyun love gil chae that much?
She' not particularly academically smart or diplomatic, she's immature as hell, she's a hypocrite by having perverse desires towards her bestfriend's fiancé, she's only beautiful because of the plot really ( Eun ae is better looking than her, the prince's wife is more beautiful, her sister too) , she's really not that kind of a person (she was kind when towards the women but that happened when her and jang hyun were seperated so he has no idea how kind she is). And most importantly she shut him off 3 or more times now, wasnt kind to him and broke his heart on multiple occasions, so why does he like her that luch and why does he keep "simping" for her?

Jo han Chul is such a great actor man. Every supporting role he does makes you think that he is that person irl.

Idk how yall are shipping DoJin with Seol when she basically views him as a mentor and big brother and has never showed any romantic interest in him even when he awkwardly hugged her she tried to push him. I also find it weird af how he's thinkin of buying her a ring without them being in a relationship like wtf.

Funny how every male character in this series is a better actor than the male lead lmao and thank god kyung and do hwa got more screen time than him.

Watching this drama felt a bit pointless even though i'd score it as a solid 8-8.5 none of the characters had any significant change to call it a "change". I dont understand why none of the siblings decided to move to seoul from the start, all of them had jobs (maybe mi jung is an exception since she was a temp) but im sure the 3 of them couldve rented a decent place to live in and make life a bit easier, the father had 0 character development, honestly he had no character to begin with, the only thing close to a character we saw was in the flashback when he was proud of his son for winning the race, i'm pretty sure the father is a very big reason why his kids are suffering since he likes stagnation.
I still dont understand why tae hoon's sister hates ki jung THAT much (its probably coz if they marry then the kid will not be living with them anymore and then the sisters will have to face the void and etc..). I wished ki jung wouldve ended with that coworker, he seemed like a genuinly good person and he liked her as a person.
Mr Gu dropped off a cliff after he came back to his job which is expected from an alcoholic but god damn that was so unnecessary and all that trust in his "partner" was so unexpected from him as he knew he was stealing money from them.
Mi jung literally didnt do anything, everytime she was going to do anything to try to change, she hesitates then does nothing as the world moves on, i really liked what mr gu said to her about whether she ever made someone feel whole to demand a person to make her feel whole, because she literally does nothing, her ex is an a-hole for what he did to her but i can understand why he left her and why he keep prolonging paying her (since she really isnt trying that hard to get her money back). Or when she found out about her boss having an affair and having her name etc.. the fact that she told no one the moment she saw the messages, holy fk that was so stupid and so random, like what did she expect!!
I feel like Chang hee was the only one of them that actually ended in a good place even though i think he deserves a lot more than a funeral director as a job (this is what's hinted so i dont know if he'll actually end up there) but as a person i feel like he's the most changed person out of them and i also like that he made peace with himself and where he's at. Also he's the most relatable for me personally, i feel like i was in his shoes when he said he didnt need a goal or a plan to live his life. Or when the family found out about mi jung's loan and ex boyfriend he said that none of them ever searched for help from family because jesus christ they are awful to each other when it came to money problems.
I kinda liked the supporting cast tbh, the girls from mi jungs work seemed very real people.. you know.. normal working people that have normal problems and normal lifestyle you can literally find them at your company where you work. I liked Chang hee's friends from work and from his hometown too.
As for tae hoon, jesus christ! i kinda feel for him but jesus christ! he's so weak and boring and selfish, he couldve easily lost his daughter and the woman he loved at the same time by being such a person.
The biggest question for me honestly is why none of these people decided to actually go seek help from a professional instead of talking it out with equally damaged people and thinkthat it would achive anything?
