I think because the main antagonist of this story is not really RongHao but evil spirits. The evil spirits commands RH to kill the tribe because it is a threat to the evil spirit. I hate how Ronghao was blinded by love and fell to this trick. Lord Yunzhong wants Goddess Xiyun because they want protection against the evil spirit and dark matter. they want an upper hand against anything and since Xilan tribe is originally a neutral state hence the marriage proposal.

If you see、XLH's root is not really entirely destroy. It is still an assumption that Siming destroy her root, more like restrict it. Because maybe XLH may had an encounter before that somehow shaken the seal. She can heal and bring back the life of plants even as XLH. Thats' what she's practicing on when she's not with her destiny book job. I think Siming has weaken her new form as an orchid because she cannot stop XLH from cultivating and buying potions to make herself strong. She can even make an orchid out of her primordial spirit. So I think what Siming has done is more on restriction rather than destroying her roots entirely. Basiclly, XLH cannot really use her cultivation into full use hence she can only heal plants and not animals and immortals.

The power is not equal in strength when it comes to hellfire but XLH power relies on life and death. The power is limited to healing, bringing back life, and purifying dark matter.

It is part of their chant thousand years ago where they change everything about her and give her a new identity. It was unlock because there is a dark matter lying around (those 3000 unsettled souls) which mainly the job of Xilan tribe. I think if DFQC didn't save it from the cauldron scene, she would have unlock the seal of the chant earlier.
