Its too bad it was broken up in parts. I envy later viewers who get to watch them back to back.
i’m that late viewer. It takes a certain mood to get into this war-scheming genre but I’m glad I did. Good to break from period drama with chaotic harems. lol
i like S1 but I love S2! More growth moments and more comedic moments to keep me engaged. The writing didn’t treat the audience like a fool. It is mature and meaningful. A continuation on the fantasy aspect is appreciated if there is any.
I certainly enjoyed S2 more than S1, mostly because the backstory provided more depths and the xiu’s brilliance in yangzhou shone really well. he’s certainly is the guang ming wang!
I used to ignore this series when it first came up as I was avoiding tough and traumatic visualisation as I was already in a tough time. Now that I could heal a bit something happened again and I broke down again. This time, I took a chance by watching this drama and utterly surprised by how much healing it shows. The pace is a bit slow for someone who wishes thicker plot but it is impeccably accurate for someone recovering from mental health illness. While finding another person to confide in may not be the best outcome for me or for everyone, the strength and growth that the leads shown individually is just as great for self-healing and self-acceptance. I don’t mind the goofiness at all as it balanced the tough journey they had. Love this! 10/10.
they are the so called noble families maintaining peace and upholding justice while all they do at the moment is purging demons.
