For me...i think i am satisfied of the ending..no leads getting killed..and open ending means the audience can make our own assumption for the story LoL..
And yes..I really like the calm princess (even though I like Song zhu Er,but Yu Ran character not for my taste)...and I am happy for the development of her relationship with Asule

Actually I like this kind of ending.. in my perspective, Sima Jiao still remember his past live even in modern suit..he clearly smile to Tingyan..
Agree with you. They should put more time maybe 15 minutes in modern time..they can show to us how Tingyan miss Sima Jiao so much and how she is struggle in real world..and at the end Mr Wei said "I am waiting for you so long Tingyan"...he succed to find and follow her in modern live (even have to wait 25 years from his birth LoL)..
Well I also ranting before that cdrama migration story is too rush to jump to the past or novel/dream...they should put more back ground story in modern times (around 15 minutes is enough) and put more effort of the story after the lead back to the real world..sigh..in this department, I think their partner in Kdrama land put better job

I like the premise and also the leads.. I like Cheng Lei even in his era of short drama, before My Journey breakthrough. and I do like Song Yi too
However, I feel that the director or writing somehow are giving us inconsistent quality
For some epic fighting scenes, it comes out very nicely..but for some of the logic of the scene it is quite dissapointing, it looks like that they just want to jump to main plot without building the story nicely. For example, suddenly when the FL save her brother from the gank..yes, she ask her troops to save her brother back..but it is quite many army there..why not a single man fight with her (different if there are only few man that she bring with). It seems that the director wants to straight jump to the scene where ML save her.
Or the scene where both of the leads disguised as poor refugees and ask for food, and suddenly they give big sum of money and build new building for the villagers..LoL...
I do like costume of cdrama since I was a kid, and I am happy that this decade, the quality of production of costume drama is increasing...they put more logic and dilligently wriring-directing in the production.
but when I watched this drama, suddenly I feel sad and dissapointed sighh...

so the scene when he is touching his head and Tingyan thinks it is because of the dizziness is actually because of thinking of giving "a vacation" or not? LoL....

When I watched TTEOM, dual cultivation means cultivated together with a load of skin ship LoL

I hope that they give longer introduction on FL live in modern world..they will have 33 episode so 10 or 15 minutes should be okay LoL

He also play in Love in Nirvana and Princess Gambit..
His portfolio drama character is quite nuance..
I first watched him in Love in Nirvana as rightful doctor and then in Princess Gambit as schemeful villain..and now here as "puppy" serpent LoL

Yeah..this is what i called finding a gem..don't have high expectation but turn up really good.
While i often waiting so long for another drama but when it is airing, actually feels quite flat

For the ending..i feel similarity with TTEOM OST..Powerful and ear catching

Don't forget to hug the ML and feel his slim waist LoL

When i want to start new drama, I always check FL character first..and I relly like this kind FL..it is feel so fresh..i wonder why they only give us a glinch of her modern world..for me it is better to get around 10 or 15 minutes of her modern drama before jumping to ancient world (I prefer kdrama for this lind of narrative)

My favorite thing is to check new costume drama when they are released..
I have low expectation becoz not big fans of the leads and still have homework to finish Wanted detective and Female General..
But wow...i am surprised that it is soo good..and in fact I am not xianxia lover..the vibes is feel like LBFD and TTEOM..and truthly I am more on this drama compare to LBFD..I really like the chemistry, it is already give me butterfly in my stomach.
And i love the FL character too..it is not annoying and she is really sincere but not foolish. She has strong mind too

I think they used white clothes for doctors in ancient dramas, and in Imperial coroner, I think the FL also used white clothes. Maybe because right now she is not official coroner yet, so she use daily clothes when performing autopsy...but she should get changed to other clothes after doing that..not just walking casually in the street LoL hehe..however so far I like this drama, I only complain about no special clothes and not using mask hehe

I really like the costume. FL is not used many bling bling accessories that suit for her character and condition..
But just wanna ask..
yes she is already drink the herbal medicine before do the autopsy..but should she use mask and special robe?

It is only told in the narrative in the very beginning of ep 1.. as she wants to revenge her parent death, she used the identity of the late daughter of her saviour (the man on the boat)..because all of shen family should be executed

Overall I really like the story plus also the chemistry and acting of the leads.
But in my opinion towards the end, there are so much unnecessary things..i don't know why the writer wants to put every trope in costume drama in the last episode..why you need the scene of ML being drugged two minutes before ending... LoL..

Yes..I like the actors and story and also the big grande set, but I feel something off.
Agree with you that I feel the camera angle and also the timing in the directing are quite awkward..hmm
