I had to break my silence on this, cause people are reaching my last nerve glorifying a grown man making him up to be this perfect human that has no faults and there is nothing to “criticize on”. Nobody perfect up in here, pfff

Yunjae says throughout the show things like “Sunwook is my friend” and “I hold back cause of Sunwook” “I want to be considerate / don’t want to hurt him.”
Those words never match his actions:
Episode 4: Sunwook asks Yunjae what he would do if the person they liked seemed to be leaning toward someone else. Yunjae answers: “I would give up.” Noted.
Episode 9: during the chess convo, Yunjae himself revealed he knew for a while that Hyunjun was already leaning toward Sunwook. But during that same convo he still: asked to hold hands twice; suggested sleeping next to him; declared he’ll keep actively pursuing him. Is that giving up? No. Is this being considerate? No.
I am stating what Yunjae said and did what he did. Which, to be clear, is completely fine. This is a freaking dating show. He likes Hyunjun just that much, so sure he decided to take his previous words back and try to get this man. Respect. But that whole story of “wanting to be considerate is now officially out the window”. Check. Nobody gave him shit for it, we continue.

Episode 13: During Yunjae’s conversation with Hyeongjun, Yunjae proceeds to say: “I wish I could turn back time.” Hyeongjun asks: “… to change targets?”Yunjae answers: “No… I should’ve been more proactive.” (Saying he wasn’t cz of Sunwook)
Yunjae quite maximized his “proactiveness” already. He consistently called Hyunjun from day one, asked for dates, chat, gave letter, gift, and initiated conversations. He did everything the show gave him to do and even more. At this point what exactly would “more proactive” even look like?
The whole “Sunwook is my friend” is now just empty words. They both like the same person, now Sunwook got reciprocated, Yunjae didn’t. That sucks, he can be sad or salty or whatever that’s normal. But he is saying that Sunwook is his friend, so he could at least be glad for him, tell him “hey I’m happy for you”, but here is Yunjae still wishing he could go back in time and pursue Hyunjun even harder?? This is not what a real friend would do. Point blank period.

Exactly what I was thinking. You think they wanted a reshoot? Where is the empathy and understanding? People seem to discard the struggles they’ve went thru.
1. Stanning & Shipping culture From the very start of this season a lot of people liked Yunjae (which is completely fine) but it got to the point as if Yunjae was this idol and they started stanning him. Then Yunjae showed interest in Hyunjun so ofcourse people are gonna root and support.
2. Sunwook From the third episode it went downhill very fast. Sunwook revealed he was interested in Hyunjun and gave that date card. immediately I already started reading hate comments: That he is a wh* , doing too much or is desperate.
3. Hyunjun The moment Hyunjun didn’t reciprocated Yunjae’s feelings. They called him: poor, rude, no personality, dumb. All types of things. Saying Hyunjun was misleading. He has only called Yunjae ONCE on the FIRST day! Since when is that not allowed to do so just out of curiosity? It’s like by calling him he was obligated to stick with Yunjae? Since then he never gave Yunjae signs, I’m sorry if you think that 0,1 second glances or not putting a finger down means Hyunjun is playing dirty? Cmon people, are we children?
4. Fake Story But it wasn’t enough. Then they decided to make up this whole story about Hyunjun already being a couple w Sunwook before and coming back for fame, based on nothing! And we already have the truth right in front of us: Production showed the interview where Sunwook clearly said he and Hyunjun didn’t got the chance to connect well. What more do you need????
5. Gang up mentality Especially on Twitter. They made a whole fandom group and got fame hungry. “So many views! So many followers!” It felt like I was seeing a group of those teenage girls in high school trying to make everyone follow them.
6. Other contestants Then they were trying to drag every other contestant in their group. Like almost claiming? against the ones they did not like. Taichi was first ignored cz he is very good friends w Sunwook. But the moment he was seen supporting Yunjae, suddenly he’s being glorified and is amazing. Same happened w Jaeha and Hyeongjun.

Victim mentality Now that people are seeing how these Yunjae fans have been acting they change the narrative: “we are mad bc it’s unfair” So that’s your excuse for giving death threats, wishing Yunjae’s brother to punch people or cursing people out? “it’s bc of the reshoot” Yunjae knew what he was getting into?!! He literally said in the interview he is not bothered and will do his best. Btw not one person said this for Hangyeol.
8. Villainize With the last few episodes that it’s clear that Hyunjun doesn’t like Yunjae and chose Sunwook. They villainize the max out of them. Oh wait no they don’t “villainize” right? They’re giving “opinions” Saying Sunwook is rude bc he was laughing at Yunjae crying, which is diabolical since Yunjae wasn’t even crying! He came in the living room and someone said “you have red eyes” in that exact scene shows Sunwook not even realizing Yunjae had walked in the room, he was looking at the cards he was reading from Sumin & Hyunjun. Or that Hyunjun had always behaved disrespectful and now wants to torture Yunjae. Bro, they are grown adults not your mean girl playing in the kindergarten. Learn to give “opinions” when you don’t change what happens to fit your preferred narrative
9. Toxic & Normal Yunjae fans When the show started I also liked Yunjae a lot, but online very fast I felt like from those toxic fans I had to “choose a side”. But I’m not gonna side w a group that looks down on others or judges the smallest gestures immediately labeling them as an evil person. It’s a choice to go with the Toxic fans or go against them. The normal fans have simply acknowledged that those toxic fans went to far and detached themselves and just enjoy their fav and go about their day.
10. Production. People saying it is completely productions fault or production setted up this narrative is just shifting blame. So you wanna tell me production told Yunjae to keep going for Hyunjun? Production putted words in Yunjae's mouth? Give me a break. How can they "make" a Love Triangle, out of thin air? No! YJ likes HJ who likes SW. That had nothing to do with production, all production did was amplify this storyline, which they did in a messy way. So normal fans have voiced their frustation about the production / editing, but none was directed to the cast themselves.
EXTRA. What people mean by the TOXIC fans. We all have things we don’t like or feel hurt by, so it’s normal for people to vent a bit or say a thing or two. I need people to not feel spoken to when that is the case. That is NOT toxic. You can speak up your frustrations or vent. So I don’t understand when people talk about toxic Yunjae fans, that some normal fans feel spoken to? Learn to differentiate, when people are talking to the toxic ones, it’s about the ones that made up fake stories; curse or wishing pain on the cast; calling names; looking down on the others; antagonizing people. So sorry if you feel spoken to but then you literally admit you are one of the toxic ones. If you weren’t you know you haven’t done anything wrong and you don’t need to defend yourself

Okay but guys, honestly the production got gold with this HJ x SW and HJ x YJ storyline. And they know how to cash it in. I respect the craft for that.

Also new shooting, 1st day. Hyunjun & Sunwook didn’t even call or bat an eye to each other, so that sealed the deal, okay Hyunjun x Yunjae, let’s go. They let us marinate that for the whole week, give us the handholding teaser. Making us excited to see more in the new episodes. But then BOOM suddenly production reveals Hyunjun actually was interested in SW and gave him a date card? And SW kept it and got hella nervous to give it back? I mean the moment I saw that I was gagged, GAGGED.
It’s like production pulled a 360 on us. So I’m just grabbing my popcorn enjoying how production tries to keep us guessing and invested (they got me fr fr)

I like Yunjae and Sunwook, I’m rooting for them both, but they like the same person. I’ve never had this before where I’m not 100% on a ship. So I’m conflicted as hell
Why I like Yunjae x Hyunjun till now are actually only for two reasons. 1.They met each other first and their short convo about their dogs were so cute omg, (we tend to get attached to the pairs we see first). 2. Because we saw in the teaser that they will hold hands. But if they hadn’t shown that moment I doubt I would’ve liked them as much as I do now, I like the idea of them. Let that sink it, the idea of them. (tall x short, Cute x Handsome) but how much chemistry between them have we’ve really seen so far? Someone tell me. I hope next episodes we’ll get to see their conversations more.
Then I like Hyunjun x Sunwook for also just 2 reasons. lol. 1. I think their personalities complement each other so well! Hyunjun pointed out he likes someone with cute big dog energy, what I’ve seen so far is that Sunwook fits that very well. The thing is I personally like the introvert x extrovert couples more, so I fell for the bubbly Sunwook and then the composed Hyunjun match. 2. I have a soft spot for people that seem to have sincere deeper feelings. Seeing how SW got so nervous to give him the date card back he previously got from HJ , shows his feelings are much more than he himself might even realize. And I just love to see Love, even if it’s one-sided, so you can’t blame me for wanting to see that love come to fruition., right?
But I also have that same soft spot for Sumin, so that’s where the conflict starts.
