ALP is actually one of those I've watched and did not like at all despite trying a LOT. I like IS more than ALP, both plots aren't ideal to me but IS has a nice campiness ALP didn't for me lmao. I WILL eventually watch ten miles one day but I've watched Love and Destiny (by yhe same producers for TMOPB) and LOVED that drama, not in a guilty pleasure way, it was really beautifully written amd executed. I also LOVED LAR. It was quite cheap and tacky and many similar elements to the other xx dramas out there but so many interesting plot points, some philosophical themes and i really loved how genuine and pure the main leads' relationship was *wipes tear*. pretty much every other xx drama I've watched has not interested me at all but THIS ONE is really getting me not for the plot nor the production but the CAMP!!!!! It's the Bee movie of cdramas for me rn😭

I think i can classify this drama as camp out of 10 in my brains rating system cause i really dislike so many things about it but can physically not stop watching it and can mentally not stop thinking about it lol...If i have to explain it in a way that makes sense (which won't anyway), I'd say i have watched Xianxia shows with the exact same plot and setup and found myself extremely unimpressed by them, and I actually dislike IS for the same reasons as why i didn't like those dramas, BUT I ACTUALLY LIKE IT 😭 I lovehate it in a way that i keep saying "wow this is bad wow this is cliche wow this is basic wow this is unoriginal, BUT I LOVE IT" every 2 minutes. I WAS LITTERALY THINKING ABOUT THAT TOO . this unfortunately happens a lot to women in the ent industry in general. They get massively hated for tarnishing the fake "innocent girl" persona created for them by OTHERS, cause ppl don't want to accept that women grow up, age, have a personality and want to explore their artistry like other humans lol. People call women "old" the moment they near the age of 30 and don't accept nor support the more mature, less idol-ish projects they do at that point and when their labels see that direction is not making them any profit and force them to pick less serious shows AGAINST their will, they call them unprofessional and crap actresses who aren't responsible enough to do a good job for the amount of money they get paid??? AND there's litterally no complaint about the same shite with men?? Men are dilfs when they age, no problem with them always getting paired up with much younger female costars, it's also okay for them to always be the cliche "serious cold guy", who is btw ALWAYS in upper position of power to the FL and is ALWAYS using that power to get what he wants from her which is litteraly MANIPULATION...like I see how fair and unbiased it is lmao. That's not misogyny i guess, it's just that women suck so bad amd ppl are just throwing some constructive criticism in there for these irresponsible women to improve 🤪 Anyways...I hope YZ gets FAT checks for the roles her agency forces her to do so that some ppl's blood pressure goes even higher than this lmao

I think I'm just crazy for being so gravely dissapointed in such small thing but I'm SO mad about CY getting dubbed by another VA...Like, one of the biggest reasons i was excited for this drama was watching him talk with his own voice cause the line delivery was insanely EPIC in the trailers...I'm so dissapointed I've almost lost any motivation to watch it the moment he opened his mouth and started talking with that voice like i legit started crying lmfao...I'm glad that at least YZ is dubbing herself here again though. I whish everyone in the industry (who have enough control over their own careers of course) to be as responsible as her.

L&R looked quite cheap visually as well but i personally think the lighting was a bit more natural in there. There's a greyish light almost everywhere here i think that's why user Xiaozhans think it looked better than this one. the costume and overall cgi quality on this one looks a lot better thant L&R's though...
