Kinda sad the romance in this one was a lost potential bc I felt a CRAZY spark between zy and zxw upon their first couple of meetings but it really died down after that 😭 and it's not really bc there wasn't "enough" romance, it's never about how much tbh, It's about HOW the writer crafts and develops it and keeps it interesting. I like the idea of romance not being the focus or the fl's goal but those small bits and pieces could have been done better.

I really loved zhuyu and understand why it's rated high but agree with you on BTBA. And in fact seeing the ratings for Yang zi's dramas on mdl makes it pretty much evident that the cdrama community is going downhills bc her dramas after she left her previous agency have gotten more serious and therefore receive way better reviews from critics in china, while on mdl it's the opposite lol
Where did this come from...this is not even remotely close to ming or qing 🙄 It's litterally as Tang as it could get and after Tang there's Song so even time wise It's not close to those dynasties!!!

mdl was already very unreliable when it came to ratings but I must say I've logged in after 3 months of not being in here and it's gotten soooo much worse specially for cdramas. I keep watching shit shows bc they have a high rating in here then good shows that are a bit more serious and not exactly made to cater to douyin editors and tiktok addicts with low attention span keep getting low ratings.
