I really hope directors do something with men's hair in repulican dramas to make them more time appropriate and realistic cause you take one look and you're immediately like that's a dude who knows what an iphone is, NAWT a man from the 1900s 😭
I think it's still unclear for some ppl that actors being dubbed or not in cdramas doesn't have anything to do…
Though I can say for like 90% that txw has really good line delivery bc she was cast as Sophie's VA for Howl's moving castle's Chinese dubbed version earlier this year (celebs don't get to do that if they don't have good diction) So it's possible she'll end up dubbing herself here.
I think it's still unclear for some ppl that actors being dubbed or not in cdramas doesn't have anything to do with the tone and timber of their voice and it's actually just about their line delivery skills and how well they pronounce and dictate every word with a standard mandarin accent! I don't speak mandarin so I can't tell how each actor does in that but china is a huge country with so many different dialects and it's gonna be very difficult for native speakers to understand what the actors are saying without subs if they have other accents and it's also very unrealistic for many setups in dramas.
Txw is like half dubbed and half not in the trailer so I think they probably put some stuff tgt just for the trailer and it's still not fully decided what they'll end up doing
they changed TianXiWei 's bubbly lovable voice with more of a seducing voice I cant blame them BUT that doesnt…
in some parts has her own voice and she was dubbed in other parts...her voice isn't really bubbly though. The VA has a higher pitched and brighter tone than txw herself imo
I'm so fvcking nervous like I genuinely hope this is good bc we've been absolutely cooked with how terrible dramas have been this year specially stellar media's hyped shows
