well in my opinion yes lol. The thing is that I don't feel like he actually "acts" in any drama at all...ike he's just there reciting dialogues 😭 but I think he would be tolerable if you watch him for the 1st time
even as a big fan of XZ im still scared of watching this series because after checking ep 1, the fl already gave…
lmfao the fl gives you "damsel in distress" vibes bc a dude caught her after falling when she was like what?? 7 years old???...you ppl are not serious at all...atp I hope you all stop consuming media with female characters in them.
I can somehow get along with other cdrama actors being dubbed but it's gonna be creepy as hell to watch the guy I've known and biased for like 8 years talk with someone else's voice 💀
I'm XZ fan. I didn’t said anything about bad about Ren Min in my any comments. I don’t know why some people…
The problem with mdl users is that whenever stuff like this are talked abt they're like "but I have never seen anyone hate X on mdl" when all the trouble and crazy things are happening OUTSIDE of mdl and on weibo and twt where the most of fandoms' population are active 😭 Though if you scroll down just a bit you can litterally see who the ones talking so awfully about her are but okay, I'm gonna buy it and think they're not "real" fans. The thing is that she's been harassed like crazy on other platforms since this started airing.. you wouldn't believe me if I say was there and saw how the hate started litterally 15 minutes after the 1st 4(?) episodes were released

And btw, really freaking HATE the backhanded compliments and pity tweets I see abt her..."well she isn't that pretty but her acting is good ☹️" Just keep that sh*t to yourself and stfu if you want to "praise" RM like that lol

2/2 Now the drama is out and I have watched 1/3rd of it and it was so shocking to see the insane outrage and flood of hate comments to the drama version of the female char and the actress playing her...As I said, the book Zhu yan was pretty flawed and although the beauty of the story was her character development, I sort of understand why a certain demographic (you know who lmao) hated her. But the hate for the drama zhu yan, whose stubborn and reckless nature was toned down A LOT compared to the book, just proved me once again that female characters are never good enough and always get hated on no matter how they are portrayed and who plays them. I just feel sorry for what Ren min went through for this show...The disgusting comments about her on both weibo and even from the childish woman hating intl audience made me lose the tad bit of interest I had in continuing this drama. From turning a female empowerment book into a male centric one to looking down on the original book and the author itself to harassing and cyberbullying the female lead in the worst way possible...I have nothing more to say other than disappointed, angry and sad to see yet ANOTHER woman become victim to the sexism in the entertainment industry and fandom culture. I hope Ren min gets what she really deserves and recovers from this horrendous hate bandwagon, and also hope Cang yue either saves her other good works to herself or gets an adaptation that respects the feminist themes and massages in her work.
1/2 (this is gonna be a long rant so don't read if you're gonna get offended) It was SO annoying to see a certain fanbase who read the og book before the drama came out end up getting so mad and trash talking and dragging the FMC to hell and back after finding out the male char they were looking for in the book was just 20% of story, while the author has been famous for writing best selling female centric stories for more than a decade. Cang Yue's books have always been abt women's journey to growth in different ways, and Zhu yan was not an exception. Bai ying from mirror twin cities was depressed and felt shackled from the pressure of responsibility as a future queen and was on the verge of suffocating from keeping her good, decent and proper crown princess image. Zhu Yan on the other hand was almost the opposite; she had the self love, rebellious nature to fight illogical and discriminating expectations put apon her by society which Bai ying lacked, but was sort of selfish and felt no responsibility as the princess she was. CY's female chars aren't "annoying", they're just flawed human beings who go through a journey in the stories and become more mature, better version of themselves. It's just so sad whenever I see ppl always only lack sympathy and understanding when it comes to female characters...
