What was that ending? There was no real conclusion with Gao Tu. The 2nd couple was just glanced over like they weren't part of the story. After Peanut came, they could have switched to give the 2nd leads proper closure, since the interactions between Hua and his child were so ick anyway, it wasn't even a heartwarming inclusion. I literally sat there, and all I could think was, "This tiger would eat its young." I wasn't a big fan of the series from the start. Hua was selfish asf, forcing change on someone without their consent or considering the consequences, and that was just brushed over too. Smh. And don't come for me in the comments. Keep romanticizing your toxicity in your little corner. I'm not here for it.
He was such a good character, the writer/s did him really bad, I'm telling you. He could've been a character who…
I think they were trying to show how "intent" shapes actions. His intents always had iffy motivations from the start, whether from his trauma, plans to try and lure He Yan, or to undermine her relationship with the Commander. Chu is a contrast for them to show doing good isn't always with pure intent. You always need that contrast for the bigger picture theme.
I'd trade him for Yan He in a nanosecond. The man was so devoted to his wife and kid. For him to go out like that…
Thankfully it wasn't a dragged out mess Chu Chu chose THE perfectly worse person to try and strong arm and I'm thankful they kept her response consistent. No sir, you weren't even an option π€£π€£π€£π€£

That Xu chick had one job. Hide the knife in sleeve, get close, stab up under the rib. But like an incompetent diva she had to flub it. What does she think them sleeves wete made for ππππ And that king guy went from praising to massive insecure trollop. Our CP out here tryna get married not usurp the throne
I'm glad it's a happy ending. And a plus is they kept the emperor alive. He was actually a good character.
I'd trade him for Yan He in a nanosecond. The man was so devoted to his wife and kid. For him to go out like that because of that wretch. Ugh. Upsetting.
I didn't manage to like Kheen, so he and his relationship with Thun didn't interest me. πI liked Ait and Mawin…
I was wondering if I was an odd duck for not being a fan of Keen. He's selfish and pushy and how he treats Thun feels off to me. He wasn't my cup of tea, which made his scenes hard to watch.
