Can someone tell me if this is reasonably realistic representation of modern Chinese judicial system and whether this drama is more case deriven or character driven? Thank you!
Brilliant drama with one of the best characters ever❤️. Every now and then a drama comes from China that amazes me. The choreography of fight scenes is 11/10
Watched Reunion after watching Ultimate Note. The Wu Xie in UN seems so 'harmless' compared to the Wu Xie here who is running circels around anyone and everyone. I haven't read the books but from other comments I gatherd he changed from smart but mostly naive character to super clever and a bit ruthless one who is not to be messed with during the ten years Xiao ge spent behind the bronze gate. UN should also take part after Xiao ge came back same as Reunion so this character inconsistency is just confusing to me. It seems like every adaptation just does their own thing irrespective of how it fits with the overall story. I wish they would make a new version that includes the main story from all the books in chronological order with only one set of actors, cut out the unnecessary side stories nobody cares about and followed natural character development.
Finally seen it but found the movie very hard to like. The characters are very poorly fleshed out and the plot is so implausibe🙄. I couldn't help the feeling that director and scriptwriters were catering to western audiences which seems to be a sad trend nowadays in asian film industry.
it takes place years after ultimate note, they're already married here. of course the dynamics are different.
Please let's not bring any censorship to this 'comments' section, there is enough of it in Chinese dramas. People should be free to express their sense of humour here and Iris explained it in the thread.
Wish they had expanded the interesting parts, like the real motivations of Si Wan's character, the background and power structure of the pharma company he worked for, the diplomatic negotitions between the three nations, the emergency protocols of the airport Ground control staff and maybe even some insight into those Japaneese and Korean Air Force pilots going against civilian plane while cutting down on the unnecessary melodrama in the scond half of the movie that made it more difficult to take the story seriously.
Best drama that deals with police investigating drug bussiness I have seen. It's not glamorous. It's day to day hard work of a group of cops who actually know how to do theit jobs. As the story progresses and the script gets deeper the story becoms clearer and the characters more complex. I haven't expected much at all and was totally surprised by the quality of this series. Big kudos to the director, screenwriters and all of the cast.
This must be one of the most unsatisfying dramas I ever watched. Because the potential was definitely there at the beginning. Unfortunately it went nowhere and the character inconsistencies became seriously irritating.
Disappointing. I prefer crime dramas where I can appreciate the detective's skills / inteligence. Here it's more the opposite. Also, as a viewer I'd like to grow to like the main characters while more is revealed about their background and motivations not get more and more frustrated with them.
