same! i'm the type of person that did ap calculus practice exams for fun 😭 so i was really invested in the math + school themes. both did pull through, and i think that FL was an inspiration to students as well as me in emphasizing the beauty of math and why mathematicians love it. but i think there was lack in creative writing in many places, esp. when ML does the presentation at the competition thingy, + the leads' relationship theme just is way out of place here, maybe it could have been cultivated 1. more platonically, which would have been more sensible and more realistic, esp. since the teacher and student complemented each other: ML w/ creativity, FL w/ experience; i don't know how many high school math teachers fall in love w/ their students, or 2. w/o minor-adult relationships and as two ppl connecting through their appreciation for mathematics

agreed!! this is just my opinion but there is absolutely nothing that makes this show get the rating it has, 9.2?? at best it's like an 8.5, but don't get me wrong that doesn't mean it's a bad show- the premise of the show is simple, and it's one of those cozy dramas you can cuddle up to and enjoy the vibes of, it's kind of a break from heavy political or sci-fi dramas definitely, but nothing about the cast, acting, story, or ost makes it deserve anything more than an 8.5.
well guess i'm the first comment lol, but i'm really anticipating season 2. not to be a baseless hater but season 1 didn't really click for me, maybe it wasn't my cup of tea, i'm excited to see where the story goes in season 2. also only snowflakes would take offense to this drama because this is history; this was reality for people back then, and people in today's world have nothing to do with that! own up to your own country's mistakes, it's not like you're deprecating yourself b/c you had nothing to do with that stuff!
it's definitely not all fluffy! the cases are really fuckin' interesting tbh so that's what keeps me hooked too…
especially the village case lol the way in which they literally challenged the court bc of that tiny little umbrella detail was definitely such a woo young woo-esque move HAHAH love her
