On When Destiny Brings the Demon Feb 22, 2026
I started this series because of Wang Ying Lu after watching I Am Nobody.
Unfortunately, it just was not my cup of tea. I ended up skipping through the last 10 to 15 episodes and barely watched them.

This series would probably appeal more to viewers who enjoy soft, sweet romance.

Overall, it was not particularly engaging, and at some point, it started to drag and feel unnecessarily stretched out.

It was a good watch, and since I’m naturally drawn to this genre, I did enjoy it. That said, I really wish it had introduced more new cases throughout the story.

The first case, the bank robbery, was genuinely gripping and set a strong tone. However, once the show became centered on the main overarching conflict, it started to lose some of that excitement for me. I ended up watching it at a faster pace and skipping through quite a few scenes.

The romantic subplot also felt unnecessary. Removing it would not have changed the direction of the story in any meaningful way.

Overall, it was a solid series, but with more fresh cases and tighter pacing, it could have been far more engaging.
I genuinely loved this series.
Although Season 1 was stronger than Season 2 in terms of comedy and fight sequences, the second season was still solid, with a compelling storyline and interesting characters.
I was honestly disappointed when I realized the actor playing Ling Yu had been replaced. I really shipped him with Wang Ye, and the new actor simply did not have the same chemistry with him. Even his gaze and overall presence felt different, almost colder, which made the dynamic less convincing.
Chu Lan and Bao Bao were incredibly charming. Their friendship and relationship were one of the highlights of the show, and their comedic moments were a big part of why I fell in love with the series
Unfortunately, in Season 2 their presence was significantly reduced, and there was far less comedy from them, which I really missed.
Chen Dou’s storyline in Season 2 was heartbreaking, but as it progressed, it added a new layer of depth and made the season more engaging. I am glad I continued watching until the end and got to witness how his story unfolded.
Overall, it was a beautiful series. I truly hope that in Season 3 we get to see more of Chu Lan and Bao Bao’s powers, along with more of their signature comedic dynamic.

The soundtracks were outstanding as well. It elevated the emotional impact of the scenes and added so much depth to the overall atmosphere of the series.

Even though I absolutely love this genre, especially parallel worlds and time travel, this series just didn’t deliver. It wasn’t particularly engaging, and it lacked real momentum.

I actually dropped it around episode 5 because both the female and male leads felt stiff and lifeless. But I decided to give it another chance and pushed through to episode 12.

For one, I wish it hadn’t leaned so heavily into romance. As the story progressed, the main couple became increasingly hard to tolerate. The show focused far more on hairstyling and everyday side elements than on the parallel world and time-travel aspects. As someone who chose this series specifically for that concept, I expected a much stronger emphasis on those themes but that just wasn’t the case.

The female lead’s behavior was genuinely frustrating, and the male actor’s performance came across as overly rigid and emotionally flat. It felt like he wasn’t given much of a character to truly embody.

Overall, since it didn’t meet my expectations for a series in this genre, I ended up dropping it.

Where is he? I wish he would be in a new drama with Park Shin Hye.

Definitely worth watching.
I get why it didn't receive the attention it deserves because it doesn't have a couple or mutual love between the leads. One of them has feelings for his bestie but the other one is just straight i guess (not sure tho).
But the feeling between them was so beautiful. It did not have unnecessary +18 scenes.
The story of their other friend was also touching:)
And their teacher... :(
He was the one who made their youth much valuable.
