Can you tell me why they broke up? I haven't read the novel and did they get married already that time they broke…
They weren't married yet. LBY killed the entire Ling clan to avenge his real family, the Huo Clan. He is the real son of General Huo.
He felt that because of what he did. he no longer deserves to marry SS. The emperor asked him if he is still willing to marry SS. He said NO. But he didnt know that SS was behind the curtain listening. When he saw SS, he immediately changed his mind and wanted to get her back. But SS was already too hurt.
LBY tried to fight off the guards holding him but he was too wounded. So he just kept shouting helplessly as SS walked away....
Truly painful scene.. This is where the 5year gap starts.
To those saying that the angst or breakup will be coming soon, I doubt it. On the novel, SS and LBY will be together for the most part, literally like 60+chapters worth after the engagement. Then the breakup is just about 8-10 chapters only... so converted to the drama maybe (2-3episodes at most) before they get back together again...
So if my calculations are correct, we'll see the painful part around mid august, a week of pain maybe? then reconcile the week after. :D
