The only thing that is not clear to me is how Kyuma and the other game master supposedly died in the real world. Since they were once a player too, it seems they died or had an accident in the real world before the story of Alice in borderland started.

Based on my own understanding, the game is real. It happened in a purgatory like world which is the borderland. So the players (Those people in Shibuya who was hit by the meteorite) are neither dead or alive there. If they won the game, it shows their motivation to live. So if you have enough motivation to live, you will be given a chance to live again in your world. But if you lose, then its Game Over. We can see that with Arisu, who despite the challenges he faced, he still wanted to live, even though he said there's no reason at all. So he was given a chance when they won the last game.

Joker is neither evil or good. He is just a ferryman accompanying people (Who are neither dead or alive) in a purgatory like world which is borderland.
Joker is a mysterious being in the Borderlands, he appears with his signature Joker card, hence his alias, when the final game, Queen of Hearts, is cleared by Usagi Yuzuha and Ryōhei Arisu, as they have refused the permanent residency in the Borderlands.
When Arisu asks Joker if he is the ruler of the Borderlands, he instead asks Arisu if he looks like a God or a Devil. Then the image of Sanzu River comes to Arisu’s mind, believing Joker is the equivalent of the ferryman (who is unnamed but the role is similar to Charon in Greek myth) who carries the dead to the netherworld, hence his subsequent reply, an intermediator. Immediately afterward, all players refusing permanent residency are sent back to reality as promised.
Because of the last episode I had to watch the first episode of season 1 and you can really see Usagi there standing (Blurred) - In front of Shibuya Station. You can also see Tatta driving the truck (Blurred also). The plot twist in the end is really good. 10/10!

I think grandpa didn't gave JDJ his shares because he made a bet to himself if JDJ CAN BUY SOONYANG OR NOT. If he can then he really is the right heir of the company. Maybe the one last choice for Soonyang / Challenge for JDJ from the chairman? That is the Chairman Jin Yang Cheol that I know. ~ Also, maybe he wants JDJ to buy it rather than inherit it so JDJ gets what he wants even though he doesn't know it. If you can remember in the last episode he asked why JDJ wants to buy Soonyang and JDJ didn't answer and he asked "Did you get what you want?" He then said "I Hope you get it".

Coming back here after watching this drama a year ago, I watched tons of historical dramas and I will say this is one of the best historical dramas ever. So if you're reading this and haven't seen this one yet.. WATCH IT! ITS REALLY WORTH IT!
On the side note, I wish there are more dramas like this one. Newer dramas can't even compete with the story and casting of old dramas, this is just my opinion tho. Best classic historical dramas for me

We can just hope there is an open romance between the 2 leads, but yeah I agree with you, there are only few episodes left so I guess we will not be seeing it. Maybe they will add a small hint of romance between the two leads at the ending episode. Hehehe. Also, based on Namkoong Min previous works, there are little romance between the 2 leads. Not an open romance, but you can still feel it. I guess its the same with this drama.

Hello! Yes I watched it, thats why I said its not the typical Romance drama that we are used to. Even though its not open romance between the 2 leads you can still feel the chemistry between Baek Ma ri and Cheon Ji Hun slightly before the 2 episodes of ML's backstory. It was shown when ML stares at FL, vice versa. They are getting on it.. hopefully hehe.
