Just wow. I have no words. I watched it, stopped, watched, stopped. I can't get it out of my brain. It is one of those dramas that leave me feeling empty inside. I could not process it. We have watched dramas with similar leads, but how did her parents even let her leave their house? This drama took me into the realm of what the hell. I have sat here and tried to think of another drama I have watched recently comparable to it other than the already stated Kakafukaka; at least they had a reason they were mentally challenged, emotional and psychological issues. Even Love is Phantom is better than this, at least in that you got lots of great kisses and skinship. Just my opinion.
On An Incurable Case of Love Aug 12, 2022
Considering the plot is simple, and I don't know what to say about the characters, how about non-complicated since you can relate to them? I could see a simple friend, and I don't want to use idiot because there are special people in the world like her that spread joy wherever they go. I could see this happening in real life. I loved this drama for the persistence of the female lead and the sexiness that the male lead provides. There can be dramas every now and then that provide the simplicity of our existence without being totally against it. I would melt into the floor if Satoh looked at me like that.

My understanding of BDSM is second hand, but I know that consent, safety, negotiations and contracts are part…
I agree with your assessment. I think they rushed this drama to get it to the screen when people were most interested and forgot that other fans would want something more. As I said, I would have been happy with Vanilla but give me good Vanilla. There are forms of BDSM that want to see the marks on their partner, and the partner wears them with pride. I have never experienced that, but I am sure there are even stricter rules. While I think both partners would experience immense pleasure from such an act, I don't believe that, unless it's a rape, we would see crazed eyes more of a pleasured-filled facial feature instead of a look of satisfaction. In my past, there was a place in Philly that did dungeon play. You could go in like a bar scene and find other like-minded individuals. Some professionals gave demonstrations for curious people, and others liked to give demonstrations because they liked to be watched. You couldn't get in at this club until after 2 am and didn't leave until at least noon. LOL, It was just that fascinating. After a demonstration, you did see slight red marks; some had welts but never nothing over the top, such as blood play. I am not naive and know that exists; however, individuals who participate in blood play often find blood's sight, taste, texture, and smell erotic and sensual. Some may also find the pain of extracting blood sexually stimulating. I would probably place this in more of a fetish. I would also assume there is immense aftercare involved. Which we did not see in Kamol. I think the book was intended to project his immense pleasure in inflicting pain and seeing the fruits of his labor. However, the act depicted the idea that he was whipping his back so bad it would have drawn blood with the force fabricated in the acting. I think we can pick apart each part of that scene and find things that would make us wonder, but as someone commented, we have moved away from the BDSM and into the mafia storyline. I do believe that the actors are sometimes uncomfortable in some scenes. I never noticed until someone mentioned it, and I went back to take a look. They look more comfortable touching during their CP appearances than on screen.

For me I really loved the chemistry between Xu Kai and Zhou Dong Yu. And then with Cheng Xiao. But as romance…
Agreed! We can hope for a Xu Kai romance explosion in his next drama.

OMG, you too!! I am a total Fiat fan girl! Pete irritated me a time or two but loved his character development when he began to accept himself. Too bad he didn't do the second one. But agents and politics always get in the way. I agree on the weapon part too. When I see a drama where someone has a knack for it, it gets me all flustered. We share a love of drama, and I am happy to have had a conversation with you too. See you soon in our next interaction. :D

As stated in other posts, I was disappointed in the script. It was all over the place; however, the couple scene, loss of virginity, and the overall caring in the drama couple scenes were what I scrolled to see. Zhao Lusi is brilliant with any co-star. Once she gets a little older, she will be a force in this industry and give us even more sizzling scenes than sweet in the bedroom.

Title Dating in the Kitchen Spoiler
I loved this drama, and Zhao Lusi made the older man/younger woman a flawless believable relationship. The chemistry was off the charts. However, one negative I have about it I didn't like that it seemed that Zhao Lusi's character was lost and made to seem childish and naive, I would say doormat in some cases. I did watch the whole thing, and yes, they got together, but in the last scene with the mother, I would not have answered that door when he came. For him to say that she gave up to easy? WHAT? I would not have answered the door, runoff, and started my career. Let him search for her, let him suffer, let that mother beg her to come back to her son. Anything to be that first half character where she made him work for it. All she did was fight for the love she wanted. At what point do you call it quits? No, she was respectful to the mother and even went back happily. EEP!
On Love Mechanics Aug 11, 2022
I am unsure whether I like this version with added additional content and expense account or En of Love: Love Mechanics. I love the Vee/Mark dynamic, they give me that BL feel-good moments, and the chemistry is out of this world, so that hasn't changed. In En of Love: Love Mechanics, there was a more realistic view of what would happen if a relationship was misunderstood. This one seems to be a more drama-based together-apart-together formula. Maybe it is because I first watched En of Love: Love Mechanics, I cried more for that one than the new one, and my heart wasn't as vested in the relationship break-up and reconciliation since it was my first (cough 20th view). However, let's talk about that shower scene. LOVE, LOVE, LOVED IT! It gave the right mix. I would recommend both to anyone who asks since I enjoyed them both, and let the chips fall as they may on which the person liked best since I liked both.

I was waiting until I finished Ep. 22 but yeah, I think this is my least favorite Xu Kai CP. For reasons I've…
Agree. You hit it on the head. This drama is not dependent on the CP. If I had a zoom feature on my tablet, Xu Kai would be a zoom moment when he kisses his CP's. I would like to see him in another drama with Cheng Xiao since it was her first drama, so her kissing skills on camera were lacking in comparison, but as she gets more experience, she will give us more, and they have great chemistry. Incredible acting can carry a drama and Xu Kai is capable of doing that in this drama and that is all I need. Great insight, and love that you hit out of the park on your comment. I would also like to see Xu Kai and Zhao Lusi together in a drama. I think that pair would create that overwhelming feeling as we got with Zhao Lusi and Xu Kai Cheng. The height of both actors is the same, and I loved how delicate and vulnerable Zhao Lusi was in those sweet moments. I think that Xu Kai could bring that out in her even more.
On Lost in the Kunlun Mountains Aug 11, 2022
I am enjoying the slow process in the relationship. Nothing is worse when we feel that they are sword fighting with their tongues with the first kiss. The sweet expectation of the first kiss and progression to the more intense gives me squeals. I recommend this drama to those who love this type of drama. The plot is interesting, and the actors are great. However, this is not my favorite pairing for Xu Kai. Zhou Dong Yu and Cheng Xiao and the missed romance of Wu Jin Yan are my top three.
On Love Like the Galaxy: Part 1 Aug 11, 2022
This is a drama I can immerse myself in and recommend it to anyone looking to see if its worthwhile to watch. When the monsoon hit and I was waiting for the electric to come back on, I had my tablet and my handy pillow to swoon over as Ling Bu Yi rushed in to save his lady fair. What could be better than to squeal in delight every time there is a sweet scene between these two. I want a Ling Bu Yi for myself, he has only her in his eyes and heart. These two actors make you believe in a love that is beyond space and time. Zhao Lusi is one of my favorite actress and her pairing with this actor actually knocked a few of my other favorites down a peg as ship list. LOL

You are right too, I think if it gave us even a vanilla true of the BDSM lifestyle and the inner workings we could over look the sins and just enjoy instead of analyzing. Maybe the discontent as we converse for me may not just be just the BDSM, while talking and sharing about it is awesome, when I watch a drama I want to be immersed in it. Even if its not completely factual it has to pull you and want you to stay in their world with them. Some sins can not be overlooked and make you feel put off. I am currently watching Love Like the Galaxy and every morning on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I can't wait to log into the We TV app to watch the new episodes. While we all know the story and the ending, the drama has brought it to life in a way that I can feel myself pulled in. I guess that is what I am really missing on unforgotten night. I am not getting that pull to bring me into their world and want to stay there with them. Processing dissatisfaction with a drama can be multi-faceted.

My understanding of BDSM is second hand, but I know that consent, safety, negotiations and contracts are part…
I agree with all of your comments too. I agree that in order to process BDSM in the more severe areas, it has to be more vanilla, or it could look like abuse. For example, let's say I like my wrist held tightly above my head during sex. However, I bruise easily, and it looks like someone tied me up and hurt me. Someone would think I was abused when all I was doing was having a little fun. Like what you like and love what you love. You are correct. In any BDSM relationship, the submissive is the one with all the power in sex play, but it can be a more balance structure depending on the relationship. They are the Yes people. While in some relationships, the Dom dominates their entire life, it is up to the submissive to give that permission to have that power. It can end in one second, "the safe word." In any genre of the book, it's about capitalizing on what is widespread, and if we look at the current trend, we are avid shippers and BL fans here, then some are so totally in love with the story that is 50 shades. Then you have people who are BDSM and wanted a drama that gave us something. Of course, people will be pumping out books without the knowledge or limited knowledge to make money.
I think, too, that I even find myself looking at things so deeply into BDSM that I forget the little things such as preference and, as you say, what the audience can handle. So I can agree. However, the look of Kamol in their sex scene, his eyes were crazed and scary, LOL. Luckily Kim's face was in the bed, or he would have run screaming. Saying you don't like bondage may not be an accurate assessment. Have you ever had a significant other push you up against the wall, press their body against yours, and keep you there with their strength? You couldn't move, and the intensity when their lips came down to meet yours made you melt until it happened. Or they push your hands above your head and devour your lips, you could struggle to get away, but you can't move. Or lets get to the good one when they flip you over and nibble on the back of your neck and you are twisting to get away because it feels so good but tickles too but they press their hands into your shoulders and keep you there to keep the torturing pleasure going? Those could fall in the more vanilla realm of dominance. We have hope for the future. This is the first of its kind in Drama Land and someone is going to learn from our comments and audience on what we can tolerate, how far they can go, and what the viewers loved. So we just have to wait and see. What's the rush? Someone out there right now might be writing the great BDSM book of our time. :D

I totally agree Dramalover, we are on the same wavelength. It is the 50 shades of grey effect. If anyone had a chance to view the web version of that OMG. The grammar, spelling, and overall telling of the book were enough to send me into a seizure. I did read Unforgotten Night too, I had hope that they would really take the mistakes that 50 shades created and show them how it's done. Fixing consent issues, and driving a true BDSM story would have really filled the void that is out there. I had high hopes for the screenwriter and adding my love of BL, I thought we had a winner. However, I had hoped they would have also fixed the Mob story plot where it was not so corny. The BDSM story has been pushed aside for the Mob Story, maybe there is some confusion on the writer's part on how to proceed in the BDSM department. They did try to fix the drunk issue with Kim. They had Kim say he wasn't drunk, but he still consumed enough to worry about consent at that point. We have yet to get a really great BDSM drama which I am craving. One that gives us a great story and some great BDSM, and if they have to vanilla it down that is OK too, but at least be accurate and not so rap'ish. As far as movies go, The secretary still tops my number one, James Spader is the ultimate Dom portrayal so far in my book. The Secretary is a more accurate (and sexier) depiction of BDSM, and superior work of art. However again the sins of the Secretary, 1. emotional abuse 2. again lack of “informed consent”; failure to “discuss the nature of their relationship,” “communicate about what their likes and limits,” 3. established safe words.” 4. When Lee needs him most as a human being, he coldly turns her away from his house. And after climaxing on her back, he devastatingly fires her. That is definitely not good aftercare. No drama or movie will be perfect but I "need" and still looking for the right fix to my need. LOL

Agree, it gives the idea that they just go for it and it can cause someone to get hurt. Even Kim was not prepared for the bruises and damage to his body that he sustained and was shocked by it. The next day he was shocked by and appalled he allowed it to happen. While he found he enjoyed the act and found that pain enhanced his pleasure, each person's pain threshold is different. If it is not done properly something that could increase pleasure and become an enjoyable addition to your sex life can become trauma and you could miss out on a good thing. It's why disclaimers are so important but even then people tend to not remember them. I agree rules and respect are so important but also trust, and trusting the person who is in the driver's seat can and will stop if things go too far. I understand that people watching the drama are looking at it as entertainment but there are people out there that already have stars in their eyes to try it out and have no idea what they are getting into. Just because your significant other paddled your butt does not mean you can take a whip.

Def not as complicated as you might think once a relationship is established, for the submissive it's a really great place to be. Someone else is in the drivers seat and you get to enjoy. LOL
On Unforgotten Night Aug 9, 2022
BDSM stands for B & D (bondage & discipline), D & S (dominance & submission), S & M (sadism & masochism)lik
The basic foundations of a BDSM relationship are consent negotiation and a level of trust. Kim had no idea what he got himself into. The only negotiation (if you want to call it that) they ever had was when he said he could do anything to him that night. After that, there was no discussion. BDSM is about a set of rules, not only about sex. Fantasies, Scenes, or sexual needs as far as this drama, pain-induced sex/inflicting pain should be all planned out to ensure that no one gets hurt. Safe words are put into place. The whole thing made me cringe. How can a dom take psychological control over the sub if trust is not created? This is essential – both parties must consent to the relationship willingly.
Kim was resistant. I thought he would have Stockholm syndrome or he very well may have it. Submissives just are; yes, training is involved. It's hard to explain other than whether you are submissive or not. Maybe we can say that the book/drama created a hybrid BDSM (fictional) relationship for these two. The deep commitment, feelings, and trust that is involved for both parties in one word; is mindblowing, yet other than bruises and a need to possess, we have yet to see that. Kamol can be tender to Kim but Kim can't get passed his resentment and inability to submit. Yes, you get to have kinky sex, but it's much more that is missing. Anyone who has been in a BDSM committed relationship will understand the intense emotional and physical aspects of it. When you know something, you expect it to be something. I feel that, in my case, I expected and forgot this is fiction. Everyone loved 50 shades of grey, but they were off the mark too on so many things. In dramaland they may have to vanilla it down for people to want to watch it or take BDSM a simplified meaning. BDSM is an art form, too ropes bondage can be beautiful and exotic. I guess, in short, what I am saying is that some people will love it, and others will be like me and have cringe moments. But the plus side I did get to see the tigers FINALLY and Kim and Kamol are super hot!
