totally fair if you’re not a fan — everyone has their own preferences. but acting isn’t a checklist of physical actions. some of the most powerful performances happen without a single kiss. if you’re just watching to pass time, it makes sense that you’d miss that part.
this got me crying. those actresses are amazing — not because they do kissing scenes, but because of their craft. If you think that’s what made them great, you’re watching the wrong parts of the film.
I literally didn’t say anything about being against two men kissing — I said stories shouldn’t depend on it to be good. If you equate thoughtful critique with prejudice, that’s a you problem.
lmaooo a good BL story doesn’t rely on kissing alone to convey chemistry and neither does any romance genre. If your main critique is 'they didn’t kiss,' maybe the problem isn’t with the actor, but with how you consume the genre
What makes you think she can’t act in this one? I actually think she was really good—like in episode 2, when the ML pointed a knife at her neck, she held back her tears for so long but the tears is still in her eyes without letting them fall. That was impressive. She actually nailed the FL role looks cold and distant on the outside, but emotional when her friend got hurt. Maybe watch up to episode 6, she was really great there.
OMG! I found my people, this drama is actually good, right? I didn’t read the novel, but still! I’ve seen…
yesss, the best thing about this drama is 100% the chemistry between the leads. they’re just so sweet. the way they look at each other, smile, banter, flirt, the hugs??? ughh i live for their hugs 💗 it’s almost perfect. i’m so full from their lovey-dovey energy i could explode 😭 i've watched all of liu haocun’s romance movies and dramas, and she’s honestly good. a little red flower had me crying for 2 days straight 😭 SHE’S A MOVIE STAR, periodt. i think the main issue with BPIL is that it was meant to be super intimate, with kiss/makeout scenes and all, but she wasn’t really the right fit for that kind of role right now especially since she didn’t kiss her co-star (don’t know the real reason tho). i just hope in the future she gets a romance script that really matches her vibe.
despite the ‘no kiss scene’ (which ngl kinda disappointed me a bit), there’s no way the actors don’t have chemistry. their chemistry is actually so good i started getting attached 😭 both visuals are dazzling, and they can definitely act. liu haocun as xu zhi totally met my expectations as a novel reader, she’s got that innocent look and flirty behavior down perfectly and wang anyu as chen luzhou? those sparkly eyes and handsome af?? yes please. the biggest issue for me is the editing and pacing... sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s just 😬. praying the upcoming episodes get it right, pls pls pls.
