I enjoyed this. It has some weak spots but in general is quite OK. However there are two things that bothered me a lot.
First, I found the whole “read people’s mind” unnecessary. Usually, series that are about body swapping, time travel, etc. need the gimmick to keep the story together but not with Cherry Magic. If you take out the “read people’s mind” thing, you still have a good, coherent story with characters, situations, and emotions that make sense. I really think it doesn’t add anything.
Second, I don’t get why they had to make Jinta such a clown. The character seems completely out of place as if it should be in a different series. The other characters are all moderate and relatively low-key but Jinta is so over the top that it made me cringe. What were the screenwriters thinking???
I have not started this and the 7.4 rating is not encouraging! 😭😭😭 Waaaaaa!!
If you're in a hurry, skip the first 6 eps and just watch 7-8. You'll miss some bits but nothing vital or really worth it. In 7 and 8 you'll get a clear summary of the whole story and its resolution. Done.
I have to ask. Why is it that if MDL ratings are 0-10, most BLs fall between 7:00-8:50? I read in the comments here that several people who didn't seem to like this series very much still gave it a 7/10! If you found it "flat" or "forgettable", Why not give it a 5 or 3? Think about it, if you take an exam and get 70/100, you're doing quite OK. Sure, you're not at the top of your class, but still you're in the upper 30% which is not bad. Shouldn't it be the same for the ratings here?
LOL I was about to write a comment saying skip the first 6 eps and just watch eps 7 and 8. You might miss some bits but nothing vital. Your review is more thorough and I agree with you
Let me get this straight. The story is supposed to deal with issues of invasion of privacy and scandals caused by secretly recorded videos but then Krom's friend goes and records Krom talking to Fueang's mother without their permission?!? This is totally absurd!
Just rewatched this and War's performance is definitely one of the best (if not the best!) I've seen in any Thai BL. I know that often in this forum people talk about good acting but, in reality if you look at them not limited at BLs but acting in general, most Thai BL actors are between mediocre and average. In contrast, War here is truly good: his facial expressions, the way he uses his eyes, his body language are so in point. He's truly excellent.
"Shut your ears. The adults are talking" Seriously?!? They've been having sex for weeks but now it's "shut your ears"??? Did they bring a new screenwriter who didn't bother to watch the previous episodes??? This thing is a mess
Can someone explain why, in ep4 around 22:00, Kambee looks surprised when he sees Ji's university diploma? (I don't speak Thai so I assume is Ji's diploma)
I must’ve watched a different series because what I saw was terrible. Acting in most Thai BL is usually mediocre (with some exceptions) but this one was just awful. Junior just stands there smiling, his performance is like a bunch of selfies stitched together. Fluke’s face is expressionless most of the time and hardly projects any emotion. The supposedly dramatic scene with the mother, father and Franky was cringeworthy. If they had overacted like in a standard lakorn, at least it would’ve been melodramatic but this was just bad.
For people complaining about flashbacks: In filmmaking: - Flashbacks don’t have to be in the same chronological order in which they happened. - By themselves, they don’t have to tell a story. - The meaning of a flashback comes from the scene where it appears, not from other flashbacks.

Do I need to watch those other before watching the 2022 one?
