The manga is under Shueisha and the Japanese adaptation is under TV Asahi. All the rights belong to the author/artist and Shueisha (about the detail I don't know it's their own business), but TV Asahi can't claim that their Japanese adaptation is the original. In this case TV Asahi and GMMTV are pretty in the same situation, none of them can claim that it's original.
